This week I have created a DLO that shows a medal that I have drawn myself. I would give this medal to Charlie Hapeta because the site said he was a featured soldier that fought well with his gun. The medals in the War were not the ones where you could put them around your neck they were the clip on medals. Charlie Hapeta fought in the 28th Maori Battalion.

Colour Theory
Today at Tech with Miss Ferguson we have been learning abiut Colour Theory. We got to create logos two times. I decided to do the Tik Tok Logo. O the oictures it shows that one is orages and a bluish yellow and on the other one it is blue and purple. This is called Analogous and Opposite Complementary. Analogous means next to each other and Opposite Complementary means the opposite of that colour. We looked at graphs that showed us the opposite colour of a could for example if I colourd my logo purple my other drawng would be yellow becasuse yellow would be the Opposite Complementary and Purple would be the Analogous. The DLO was another example of the colours theory.

Paper Plane Analysis
Today we have got into new groups for leadership week. In my group there Joseph, Fui and Te Pounamu. Together we created a paper plane design to see which plan could go the furthest. This DLO shows the Analysis of who won. My plane got the furthest by 9 meters. Then we went to the hall to see ou tof the year 7's who's plane would be the best design. Overall Chavda's plane would by 14 meters. Her plane managed to get all the way to the end of the hall. It was a good game. This challenged showed us that collaborating with each other would let us be successful.

Leadership Challenges
This week is the Year sevens Leadership week. This week I have learnt that Teamwork means working collaboratively with others. In one of the challenges we partnered up with another group to create the tallest pyrimid using isometric triangles. It was a good challenge but unfortunatly the other team won by 10 triangles. I think this challenge was good for us because we were communicating well and working with each other well. I enojyed this challenge because I got to get along with other people.

Today I have created a DLO about the Maori Battalion Timeline. This DLO has different facts about the Maori Pioneer Battalion. I worked collaboratively with Magenta, Joel and Joshua. We have gathered information about the war happening in different years like 1914, 1915, 1916 and 1918. I learnt that the war started on the 5th August 1914 when Britain declares war with Germany and it ended on the 28th of June 1918

Athletics Day
This week was Athletics. We had different teams. The teams were Yellow, Blue, Red and Green. We went around different stations doing different activitys. Each team used great cooperation to each other. My favourite activity was the first station we went to because their were tagers and running in it and I like to run. Some people even ordered sausages for their lunch. After lunch their were sprint finals everyone done their best to win. Overall I think everyone had enjoyed their day today and had a lot of fun.

This week I have created a DLO about my Read theory Results. I have a graph to show the progress I have done through the year. My goal is to try to get past Grade 7. My first ever story that I have read was a Non- fiction story. It was called Making Pizza. My current grade right now is grade 7. Read theory is a reading site that can help you gain reading knowledge.

Meerkats
Today for Book Week I have read a book called Meerkat Mail. In the book it had some good information about meerkats. Here I have created a DLO telling other readers about meerkats. I found out that they do not like rain because they live in the Kalahari Desert and they would be more likely to be better in the hot weather than the cold. One of the facts I knew about meerkats was that they have a long body and a long neck. I really enjoy Book Week because I like to read books. Books can help me find out new information and they can also help me find out new words.

Bar Graph - Do Illustrations Matter?
This week is Book Week. Book week concludes on doing activities that our school does to show our awesome reading skills. Today LS2's activity was to create a bar graph on a question that the class had answered. We got into a group of 3 and went around the class writing down our thoughts to the questions. These questions were based on reading. The question I choose was, Do illustrations matter?. In the bar graph, I have created the top results on how many people answered. No on the second graph, it shows the people that said yes.

TOday I have created a DLO with Miki working out some maths. We have measured out the Withd, Length and Height of each book. We used our library books to finish this activity. The books we used were called 400 minutes dange, Lemony Snicket and Zeke Meeks.
How to take care of books
Today I have created a DLO with Nyjah about how to take care of books. We made the DLO for younger kids so the can learn how to take care of their owm books. We have wrote in the steps to how to look after it and why we should look after it.

Tech
Today at Tech the year 7 group has been creating some drawings. We got to draw either a flower that was made out of circles, A Star that we carry on from the circle or the square that was carried on from the star. It was a lot of fun creating the drawings. I found this easy because I was committed to what I was doing. I created two drawings and I got to put them on the wall. In this activity, we got to rule, use a pair of compasses and felts. There were so many other beautiful designs on the wall.

The Battle of Somme
Today I have created a Collaborative DLO with Joshua V and Nyjah. We answered some question that reflected to the Battle of Somme. The countries that fought for their countries were Britain, French and Germany. Britain was ordered to help the french beat Germany. This also reflects on our inquiry work because in Inquiry we are learning about trenches in the War and in the Collabortive work we are learning about the Battle of some which was in War. I think that learning about the war is very intersting because now I know more about the war than before.
