Kahoot Creations



This week all the groups in LS2 has been working collaboratively to create Math Kahoots. This was our chance to see which group will be best at solving the equations. In my group we used Word Problems, Times tables, Division, Addition and Subtraction. The team that is featured in most of the Kahoots gets to do Digital Devolpment. Groups in First, Second or Third is one of the featured players. My group haven't been featured in any of the kahoots because sometimes we press the wrong answer.

Place Values Strategy


This week for maths we are learning about Place Values. We are all in new groups for 2018. I'm in Mrs Anderson's groups for maths. We learnt how to add up strategies with place values. I actually learnt something new this week. I never knew you could add with place values. But now I know and will be using it for more strategy in future. What I had to do was I had to find a partner. My partner was Mele. Then we played a game called superfingers. What you need to play this game is a white board and a white board marker and 2 dice for you and you partner. Then you have to do is to roll the dice.The number you get is the number you have to add or multiply. You have to say the answer before your partner does. Once you say the right answer before your partner you have to cross out the letter from the word super fingers. First one to cross all the letters wins. This game was really fun. Then we had to create a DLO with a problem and a video to show how to work it out.

Art

 Today for maths we have being doing art. We had some fun doing this.FIst off we done our planning. Then we have been drawing it. We had to draw 9. Then we had to do this online to start it of and make it look like it is our one on paper.

Planing of Drawing 3D Nets

LI: To create my own 3D shape with a different capacity from volume. Today for maths we had to create our own 3D net shape. This was similar to last week's Maths but a bit diffrent. This math work is this week and next week to.But for now we had to blog this. We had to blog our plannign and our net of our shape. I choose to do a cube ( 3D shape ). I done this becasue it woyld be much easier for me.Our Volume had to = W x H x D ( Withd, Height and depth ). Our capatasy had to be more than 0. We could choose any numebr we wanted to measure or do to our shape. I choose 14. 14 can be made of 7 so i had to mostly use 7cm in my shape because if i done 14cm on my book it would not fit. We had to plan out our shape. We had to measure it and find out the calcolations. For this we had to use our times tables. My Volume answer was V = W x H x D
 V = 7 x 7 x 14 = 686 x 14 = 9744cm3.There was a lot of knowledge to do in our maths.

Graphic - Scale

LI: To scale 2D shapes using times tables. Today for maths we have been doing scale. What we had to do was we had to be doing scaling on our maths group. We had to do 3 shapes with 4 corners. We could pick a Video,Voice with slide instrations and a Graphic. I picked Graphic..Then we had to create a Graphic DLO and then start to doingdo the same thing we done on our maths book but with diffrent shapes. We also could do an Irregular polygon. I only done one. How I we learnt this was I just rember what we did last week but do it a little bit diffrent.

Reflection,Translation and Rotation

LI: To transform a shape using Reflection.Translation and Rotation

Today for maths we haver been learning about Reflection,Translation and Rotation. What we had to do was we had to frist of course learn how to use Reflection,Translation and Rotation. Once we did that we had to get our maths sheet and show the pivot. Then we had to start to draw shapes and then do the Reflection,Translation and Rotation. Maths work for this week was pretty hard. We also could create diffrent types of wacky shapes. Our leason was to know how to use the reflection, translation and rotation. We had to create a pivot than on the vertical left we had to do negitive nubers. On the horizontial right we had to do postive numbers. Then we had a choice to do either a Video,Slide with voice instructions or a graphic. Me and my partner Mele decided to do graphic on a google slide.

Liquid Volume

LI: To Measure the volume of bottles or cans

Today for maths we done Liquid volumes.Wht we had to do was we had to find pictures of bottles or cans then we had to go on it's site that we found it on and guess how many ml is in the object.We also had to attribute it. How to attribute i is by first searching up a photo then clicking tools,Go on Lable for reuse.The the last step is to get a piccture that you like then go on it's site and copy and paste the Owner,Link and license so then you are giving more creidt to the owner than yourself.

Measuring Volume

Today for maths we done volume.Volume is the whole area of the shape.What we done first we got some place value blocks and get some blocks. Then we had to work out the volume which was W x H x D ( Width x Hight x depth). We had to times w and h first then when we got the answer we had to times it with depth.Once we knew what volume is then we had to find rectangular shapes and measure that with a ruler which was harder

Area


LI: to identify the area of a rectangle and to measure

Today for math we learnt about area. For example if we had a rectangle the inside would be the area.We used times table to count the inside faster.How we counted the inside we got pixel art paper and and to draw rectangles.Then we had to measure the Withd and the Height that was in the rectangle.After that we had to get our maths book and glue or paper the we started to add it up in times tables.I learnt the using times table  makes it much faster to count and what area is.Everyone in Mr Wong's group learnt about this.

LI: To mueasure lengths usig non-standerd measument.For maths we got to make our own rulers.How we done this was we got handed a paper that was shaped as a ruler.We had to pick out a shape for example a 3D Block and rule it on the papper untill we were done.Then we had to put numbers on top of the lines and start to measure objects and record it on a sheet.

Today for our math activcty we had to do find,draw,animate and act.What we had to do was we had to go on the LS1 site and search for the words that was on our group slide.We had to search for the meaning for example  Vertex,Vertex means a coner or a point were lines meet.

Today I have made a google doc on place values.What we had to do was get a dice and roll what ever number it shows we have to do that number like 457 and ask some one quetions like what is the tens ( 5 ) what is the group of tens ( 45) and what is the hundredes ( 2 ).What I learnt was thatif you do numbers like 52 and someone's ask you how many groups are tere in 52 you would say 2 but its not.

What can you understand about Ancient Egyptian numbers compared to modern numbers?

What I know about it is that there numbers and that ancient egyptian numbers can be written fast like for 100 that is Drawing.png but the modern numbers you would have to count 1 to 100.

Number bonds to 10


Today i got to do my number bonds to 10.We did this for maths.What we had to do was we had to make the number 10 with Mr Wong and when we knew it well we had to make a video like my one on the top.I had fun doing this beacuse number bonds help you get faster with your counting or your pluses,takeaway,division or timetable.

Tables Conga



Today I was doing transum. The maths game that I played was tables conga.What was hard was trying to get away from those x's.I had to get away from the x's so I don't die while finding the numbers.I went in 5 this time because I love doing my 5's and I done 5 because it is easy to do.I love doing tables conga.

Today I done my time tables.This was fun because i know my 10 times table really good and it is fun doing my 10 times table.I like playing this game because i can get to know my times tables better and next time I do it I might do it fast.

Maths-Girls and boys accurcy

Today for maths we had to do a chart with Mr Wong's whole maths group.We had to get the bean bag and bucket and get up into a group of 6.Then we had to measure 2 meters away from the bucket.We had to stand where we measured 2 meters away from the bucket and try to throw the bean bag in the bucket.If you get it in you get a 0 if the bean bag is touching the bucket and it is next to the bucket you get a 1.If it is far from the bucket you have to measure it.Next you have to write your answers in a sheet and then you graph it.

Graph

Today on Maths we had to do musering. What we had to do is get a ruler,Bean bag and a bucket.We had to put the edge of the ruler near the bucket and mueaser it in till you measured it to 2 meters. then we had to stand 2 meters away from the bucket and throw the bean bag.If we miss we had to meauser how far we messed if we got it in we get 0 which is good
