The Last Thirteen - James Phelan
This term LS2 have a Reading Challenge. This challenge is when we read books that are different for exmaple Mystery, Comic and more. But that's not it, at the end if you finish you get a good decent amount of money for a voucher. I have read a mystery book. This book is called " The Last Thirteen" and it is written by James Phelan. This bok is about three special people that somehow are having weird dreams that come to life. In one of their dreams they see a black shadow saying over and over again " I click my fingers and everybody dies". These people are named Sam, Alex and Eva. People around the world are trying to kill them, People like the Enterprise Agents. They come to think that they can never trust anyone even their parents or the police. Its up to them to find the last thirteen, Are you one of them?. I would definitely recommend this book if you are into mystery books because it is very intersting and you would always be eager to find out what happens next.

Kiwi Can
This week LS2 has had another great session a Kiwi Can. Our instructors are Mrs Paige and Mr Alabati. Our topic for this term is Positive Communication and our theme is Positive Relationships. Positive Relationships means getting along positively with other people. Positive Communication means talking kindly to other people. We have are learning about our tone of voice. Our tone of voice and show our feelings so if we are angry we have a loud or a angry tone of voice. Kiwi Can says " Talk to me, So you can see, Someone with positivity". We played some games that would show our communication and relationships with others. The first game was called fruit salad. To play this game when the teacher says apple we go left, Pear is right, Banana is forward and watermelon is backwards. Another game we played was called negative and positive role play. This is were we got into a group and we had been given a card that showed our role to play. In the role play we all got given a negative role to play but at the end we did add a solution to the problem.

3D Sketching
Today the year 8A have finished another session of graphics with Mrs Ferguson. We are learning to create clocks so this photo shows our practice on 3D drawings/ Sketch . This will help us draw our clock designs. I learnt how to shade my 3D shapes using my pencil/colouring pencil. To create those white spaces in the shapes you will need to create a 3D box. Then while shading leave a skinny space on the top and side. Next you will need to create a darker shade using pencil on the dark coloured box. Lastly you draw shade near the dark shade. You draw this so it will look like the square is sitting on something.

Design Brief
What
What type of shape are you going to design?
What type of clock do you need?
Who
Who are you going to design a clock for?
Where
Where are you going to use the clock?
Why
Why do you need a clock?
Why are you giving the clock to this person?
How
How is the clock going to be made?
How is the clock going to be designed?
How long will it take to make?
On this DLO it shows questions that reflects on what type of clock we are going to use, The design you are using and who you are going to make it for. We all communicated with each other the figure out some questions.

Kiwi Sport
Today for LS2 it was our first kiwi sport session. Our sport teacher is called Shenise and our sport this term is Ki o Rahi. At first we watched a video about Ki o Rahi. This game was created after Rahi went to find his wife who had been taken by another tribe. This game was created to solve our problems and gives us peace instead of conflict. We played some activitys that are similar to the actual game so it can give us a better understanding of what this game is about.

This week was our first time back at kiwi can. This year we have new kiwi can leaders, Their names are Mr Alabati and Mrs Paige. Our theme for the term is Positve relationships and Positive Communication. Te Tiriti o Waitangi
This week Villami, Matthew, Sakina and I worked together to create a DLO of a story called "Te Tiriti o Waitangi". In other words The Treaty of Waitangi. For this task we first read the story then moved on to doing the DLO. For this DLO we did a few reading activities which were vocabulary, summaries and seeing it from both sides. For the seeing it from both sides we needed to choose a question from the learning conversation slide.

Explanation Sketchnote
This week for Writing we are learning about explanations. Miiana and I have worked on a sketchnote. This DLO will help us remeber the things we need in a explanation. In the DLO we wrote down the things we wrote from our paper sketchnote. The photo on the bottom of the DLO shows us speed dating. Speed dating is where we were in 2 lines and one line had been switching so that we hve different partners. This also helps us combine our ideas together to say what we have and what we missed.

E-Ako - Problem Solving & Additive Thinking
Today I have been on e-ako doing some problem solving. This problem solving includes frogs. I get to move the frogs around so that the green frogs are on the right and the red frogs are one the left. Throughout the way there is more frogs and I have to guess how many moves would there be for example if it only took 3 green frogs and 4 red frogs to get moved 15 times how many would there be if there were one more added to the green frogs. To get some help we click on tutorial and we learn how to solve it.

Panmure Bridge School - CARE Values
Today Alex, Joel, Sakina, Viliami and I worked together to create a DLO on our school's CARE Values. In it we needed to include how we could show the values and what they mean, an additional task was to brainstorm how we could use pictures to show what the values would look like. For the confidence value we chose to have someone standing up and pretending to present their work which would take confidence and for other values we had raising one's hand to answer a question, picking up rubbish around the school and completing a set task.
