Summer Learning Journey - Activity 2

Today for activity two I get to talk about where I live. Auckland is a wonnderful place. Their is so many different thngs you can do. Auckland is very big and it has a nice enviorment. I am proud to live here in Auckland because it is calm and quiet. Auckland is a place for anyone to live at.

Day 1: The legend of New Zealand - Summer Learning Journey

Today for the first activity for the Summer Learning Journey. For this activity I found 3 fun facts about New Zealand that I didn't really know about. Here are my three fun facts:
1: The Maori name of New Zealand is Aotearoa which means the land of the long white cloud.2.  New Zealand was once governed as part of the territory of New South Wales and later a part of Australia.3. Queen Elizabeth II is officially Queen of New Zealand, represented in the country by a Governor General.

Who am I?

Today Mele and I have been working on a silde to discover some famous people. It was quite hard because we didn't really know most of the people. In this DLO their is 5 intersting facts about the person and questions. I really found Tenzing Norgay intersting because I knew Sir Edmund Hillary worked with someone to climb Mt Everest but I didn't really know who it was. 

City of Sails

This week I have created 5 DLO's that are based around New Zealand. My first DLO was a welcome sign to show toursit that were coming to Auckland. My Second DLO was how to make a Pavlova Cake. I then used my researching skills to find pictures on the internet that are located in Auckland. My next activity was a to create a gif of images in auckland. I used GifMaker.me to created this task. My last activity was a DLO that showed  a collage about Auckland. I had a lot of fun doing this because I learnt some new learning like how to make a Pavlova Cake

Leader Speechs

This week was the Year 7's Leader Speechs. All the Yr 7's spoke up cleary and was very confident. I decided to become the Manaiakalani Leader for 2019 because I have recieved all of my silver CARE award badges and have a variety of blog posts. My script included many things like helping others with their work, My Summer Learning Journey and I also have been including my goals of 2019. The year 8 and Mrs Johnston, Mrs Mallward, Ms Kirkpatrick and Mrs Anderson was their to be our audeince. We will be getting our reasults at prize giving.

My Medal

This week I have created a DLO that shows a medal that I have drawn myself. I would give this medal to Charlie Hapeta because the site said he was a featured soldier that fought well with his gun. The medals in the War were not the ones where you could put them around your neck they were the clip on medals. Charlie Hapeta fought in the 28th Maori Battalion.

Colour Theory

Today at Tech with Miss Ferguson we have been learning abiut Colour Theory. We got to create logos two times. I decided to do the Tik Tok Logo. O the oictures it shows that one is orages and a bluish yellow and on the other one it is blue and purple. This is called Analogous and Opposite Complementary. Analogous means next to each other and Opposite Complementary means the opposite of that colour. We looked at graphs that showed us the opposite colour of a could for example if I colourd my logo purple my other drawng would be yellow becasuse yellow would be the Opposite Complementary and Purple would be the Analogous. The DLO was another example of the colours theory.
