Tech
This week it is our last rotation at tech. The year 8B had Mrs Feguson and are creating Clocks for a special someone. I have created a clock for my mum because I think that she really deserves it because she is always working hard. I wanted to design my clock the Fiji flag because that is my background. There were many diferent clocks like a bird, cat and more. There were a variety of designs too. A big thank you to Mrs Ferguson for teaching us how to create our clocks.

Stardome
Last Night the year 8 got a special opportunity to go and see the night show at Stardome Observatory. It was a amazing night. Tobias was showcasing us all about the stars. There are plenty of stars in the night time but in the morning there is only one star which is the Sun. The stars also have constellations and there is about 88 costellations in the world. Two constellations that are close to Jupitar and Saturn are a Scorpion and a Man - Horse. The Scorpian is closest to Jupitar and the Man-Horse is closest to Saturn. I've learnt that Jupitar has altogether 98 moons and that Saturn's rings are made out of Dust and ice.

Information Report - Penguins
Penguins
Penguins, they are cute and chubby animals. They have white bellies and dark black backs. They have large heads but short necks. Although their skin looks like fur they are actually feathers. There are 17 different species of penguins. The smallest type of penguin is called the blue penguin and the Emperor penguin are the biggest penguins. These animals only live around the southern hemisphere which is the iciest part of the world.
Penguins can only live in icy places such as: Antarctica, Africa, Australia, South America and the Galapogos Island. They preen their feathers because there's a special type of oil on their body that keeps them warm. They use there flippers to help them swim so they can find nutrient. Some people might even say that penguins are aquatic!. Most penguins like to eat seafood.
Penguins are carnivores so they can eat both meat and vegetables. The main food that they eat are Krill which are small fish, Squid which is a baby octopuse and regular fish. Usally if penguins are about to have a baby penguin the father penguins stays and looks after the egg while the mother penguin goes and hunt for food but they have to be carful of the predators.
There are plenty of predators for penguins. The land predators are Ferrats, Cats, Snakes, Lizzards, Foxes and Rats. The water predators are the main threats since penguins are always in the water. There are Seals, Orcas (which is a killer whale) and sea lions. Luckly for penguins they have counetshading feathers which kinda camouflages them in the water.
Most penguins either hop, waddle or do tobogganing. This is how they usally walk. Tobogganing is when a penguin drags itself somewhere on its stomach. Peguins have huge colonies because it is like a camouflage to them because of their black backs. Did you know that penguins can only lay one and a half eggs a year?.
Now you know so much facts about penguins. They are very intersting animals and can do many amazing things such as tobogganing and preening. They aren't just regular animals but they are amazing unique animals.
For the past two weeks I have been learning about a Information report. A Information report is a peice of writing that informs the reader true facts on a specific topic. My information report talks about Penguins. Penguins are animals that live in the Southern Hemisphere which is places like Antarctica, Africa, Australia, South America and the Galapogos Island. Some people might think that penguins have fur but they don't they actually have feathers. They have black backs and white bellies. They have this fat that is called blubber to keep them warm. They preen because they have this special oil on them. Altogether there are 17 different species type of penguins. The smallest penguins are called the blue penguin and the Largest penguins are called the Emperor Penguin. To help me write this information report I used my notes that I had wrote down and the acronym TIPS ( Title, Introduction, Paragraphs of Informations, Summary ) to help me order my writing.

Sun Facts Quiz
This google form shows some of the questions from my quiz. This task is a creating one. I have gathered information from the book " Sun Facts" and have turned them into questions that my peers can answer. The book Sun Facts had a variety of facts so it was easier to create this quiz. Before creating this google form I had commented on Nyjah's quiz and also answered some questions.

Who's the best?
This term for reading we have been reading different books that is linked around Space. We have six independent reading challenges and for each one we all get to do a response. We are learning to read other people's task and comment on their work so we can have a dialogic conversation. A dialogic learner is someone who has a conversation with someone else arguing and sharing opinions back and forth about the book. My favourite part of this challenge was the creating part because I got to be creative with my task. For this task I have created a DLO about my book I have read. It was called " Who's the Best". Victoria was my partner for this task. I learnt that there are 8 planets altogether in the solar system.

Tamaki College Visit
Today the Year 8 students has got a chance today to have a experience at college. After our sessions at tech all of the year 8 students stayed back. We all went to different orientation. Our first class was Maths. I really enjoyed this task because I learnt something new. We were learning about Coordinates how how to use them. We all each got a grid of paper and some coordinates then started following what the coordinates were. At the end of our drawing our results were a alien. Our next rotation was science. We done different expericence using Dried Ice. One of my favourite challenges was how we had dried ice and water in a tube and the tube went flying up in the air. A big thank you to the teachers and to Tamaki College for giving us this oppotunity for the Year 8 students to have a a experience of what type of learning the year 9 students for at college.

Gymnastics - P.E
This week at kiwi sport we have been doing gymnastics. We are learning how to do Forward/Backward rolls, Cartwheels, Handstands, Beam/Balance, Building Strength and Jumping. These skills helps us to be flexible and strong. First we started off with a warm up game which was called " stuck in the middle ". We were also doing exercises to make sure we didn't get hurt while doing gymnastics. We all were separated in teams and had different rotations to go too. What I found hard was the backward roll because I'm not really good at doing rolls. The easiest thing that I found was the handstand on the wall because thats one talent I already know how to do. A great big thank you to Steve from Eastern Suberbs that took this chance to teach us Gymnastics

Palm Sunday Presentation
Every thursday in LS2 everyone gets to present a special event that happens in their culture. It could be White Sunday, Easter, Holy Communion and more. By doing this it also counts as CARE award. This week Joel, Florence, Elenora and Myself presented about our special celebration. Joel talked about her "Niuean culture", Florence and Ellenora talked about "White Sunday" and I talked about " Palm Sunday ". What is Palm Sunday?, well palm sunday is a special day that everyone gathers together and celebrates the remeberacne of when Jesus entered Jerusalem to be wth his children. It is a day that is based around the children. Everyone has a big feast and the Kids are apart of a special act the is based on the story of this event. Palm Sunday is on the 6th Sunday of the month, it is always one Sunday before Easter Sunday. What I found intersting was that back in the olden days, Donkeys were used to ride on because they were a common ride for kings.

New Zealand Sign Language
This week it is NZSL which stands for New Zealand Sign Language. It is a week that we celebrate the language from when it first became an official language in New Zealand. This happened around 2006 and 24.000 people use it everyday. Sign Language week is one of the three main languages in New Zealand, there are Maori, English and Sign Language. I have created a DLO that shows information about this week. During this learning I have learnt many phrases, ways to talk to people and even how to spell my name. Many countries around the world don't use sign language like New Zealand. Every country has its own unique way to use sign language with each other.

This procedural text shows how to use google drawing tools. I have listed numbers to show the order of my list. A procedural text nees: Side Comments, Numbers to order the list, Things you need, Verb and Adverbs. A procedural text is a list of instructions to learn how to do something. In this task I learnt the meaning of procedural and what I found interesting was that a procedural text always needs a verb and a adverb.

Place Value Partitioning
This DLO shows how I used the strategy of place value partitioning to solve addition questions. During our maths lesson I practised using this strategy with number and word questions. When I was answering the word questions I had to look for the maths so that I knew what numbers to work with. My screencastify shows the strategy I used. The more I used this strategy the easier it got.

Tech
This week for Tech the year 8B have had another great session back at tech. We have all started on painting out clocks. The clocks were created from a laser machine which was planned out from a computar. The clocks were made out of wood. We all first drawed or designs and started choosing our colours to start of the painting. We all had different sized clocks which made it intersting. We saw shapes like cats, birds and more. The wood kinda smelt like burnt fire that had just been washed out with water. The photo that had been took shows a photo of Chavda and I choosing our colours for painting. During today's lesson I learnt the next time I should start thinking abou blending my colours first to creae the colour I want then just going with the original colour. To be able to blend colours you get a equal amount of each colour and blend but if one colour is light and the other is dark then you will need to add more of the light colour and add a hint of the darker colour. This is how you blend any type of colours. I usally use these techniques in Painting, Colouring and more.

I'm am an Agent of Change
At Panmure Bridge School we are Agent of Change. Learn, Create and Share is our main goal as a school. But for a class we set goals for our learning. This week LS2 have each created individual DLO's showing their learning on how the can be an Agent of Change. Becoming an Agent of Change in my learning I will need to Take risks more in answering questions even though I may not be right, Trying new strategies in my learning, Asking for help if I may be stuck and setting goeals for the year that I know I can achieve. To show this I will need to Make the most of my learning, Explain my thinking when sharing in a group, Stepping out of my comfort zone and heading for excellence and listening more to other peoples opinion.
