Pop-up Globe Visit
Last Week Rita and Reuben came to visit our class. They are from the Pop-up globe that's in Ellerslie. Rita and Reuben are actors at the Pop-up Globe. They talked about the amazing things they do when acting. I found it interesting that they mix genders when acting. The first Globe was hit by a canon while acting. So they made a new one with holes for light. They told us that a tragedy plays would end with death. They also said that comedy plays would end with marriage. Rehearsal would take 6 weeks for the actors to get learning. William Shakespeare used a ten pattern beat in a play. Their plays would weave Maori Language and culture in plays. The narrator would use the fourth wall to include audience. During plays it would take one to two hours long. The best place were in the front of the globe. The cost of tickets were about $10 dollars per person.
