Rugby World Cup Problem Solving

Since the Rugby World Cup is being held this year in Japan, LS2 have been completing a number of activities based on the Rugby World Cup. Today we worked out the measurements of a Rugby Pitch. Mele, Angela and I worked collaboratively together to work out the maths questions. The strategy that we used the most was the Place Value columns, because it helped us  through everything, especially when using the long multiplication strategy.Above shows a DLO of our favourite world problem/strategy. Feel free to comment down below your answers.

Question:
A rugby pitch has an area of 5400m2. What could the dimension of the filed be?

  1. Greetings Marieta,
I really enjoyed reading about the strategy you & your partner used to solve the problem as well as learning about the different RWC stadiums.

    Thank you,
    Kind regard ~ Fui
