Angle Degrees

LI: To measure angles using compass

Today for maths we done angle degrees. What we had to do was we had to make a slide and start to use protractors to measure fractions. The fractions we had to measure was halfs,thirds,fourths,fifths,sixth,tenths and twelveths.The whole of LS1 had to do this. We measure the fractions by getting the protractors and lining it on the edge of the fraction were using. The hardest one we tried to measure was the 1/12 because it was a very small fraction. It was also hard to get and answer beacause the numbers on the protractors was small. We had to work in partners but our team worked in group because we thought it would be easier finishing this off. The other fraction that was hard to measure was the half because it was big and  the protractor was small. How we measured this was by rembering that we measure this on the bored with Mr ogilve.

Celebrations From around the World

Today this was our other inquiry work. What we had to do was we had to make google draw but I wanted to do google slide. So then we had think of a celebration that countries celebrate and add which countris celebrate this.We also got to write about their celebration and had to atribute the picture.What attribute means is like it is a photo that was the link to the photo,The owner and the lisences.How to attribut is by searching on a icture for example spongebob and the go on tools and then click usage right. Then you want to pick lable for reuse.Once we done that we go on the site  and start to find the link,The Owner and the license and put it on the slide for draw your doing. But also add the photo . This was really fun making because I got to learn what some of the other countries do for a party or their celebration. I done slide because I wanted to do more celebrations from other countries. What i've learnt the most is that countries have to have their own celebration so then other people would learn more from their celebration so then other countries could get inspired and do something simaller but diffrent cause then this would mean all countries would have something to celebrations.

Qeastions for Matariki

To make Text to Text, Text to World, and Text to Self connections

Today for inquiry we learnt  about matariki. I learnt that matariki that The seven stars appear during late May or early June and that matariki is the Maori  name for the cluster stars also know as the Pleiades. So for our activicty we had to make a google draw and then go on our class site. The we had to read the qeations and answer them on our google draw. I actually have learnt about matariki alot form my past.

Venn Diagram - 2 On Articals

LI: To engage with current events.

 Today for reading we got to Read articals. We we did was we had to Go on Kiwi Kids News To find to articals that were particiarlly like the same. I Done sports. We had to make a copy of a venn diagram and start getting fact on one artical and putting it on one circle. Then we done the same but with another artical and then we had to put it on the other cricle. Once we finished doing that in the midde we had to write what were the same things about the 2 articals we done. On our next Reading task we had to do a current event. One this one we had to read another artical from Kiwi Kids New and then on the hats there were questions that we needed to answer. Once we read the artical we started to write the answers and what happend. The 2 articals we read for the venn diagram was All Black vs The Lions and NZ wins the american cup. For Current Events I done Man could hold mower on his chin. I found out that he actually broke the world record.

Cybersmart Commenting

Today for cybersmart we done Smart Comments. In a smart comment there is a Greeting,Positive attitude,Suggesten and a Question. We had to comment on Tamaki Primary's blogs. Mr Wong picked out the person we were doing. I got Kira. Kira is a yr 8 at Tamaki Primary. I think her blurbs and work is amazing. While i was reading through her blog I really like how she explanid I think mostly everything that she done.  The one thing I liked about her blurb was how they had to get along with other people.

Writing Word Problems

LI: To choose addition or subtraction to solve word problems.Today For another piece of math work we done Word prblems. What we had to do was we had to write down problems. Then we had to solve out the answers. Once we done that we had to write down how we figured out 2 ways on how we solved it. 

Technology Community,Home & School and The World

LI: To use BRAIN acronym to identifypossible changes to a technology piece or system.Today for Inquiry we done more technology but this time we done it about the Community,Home or school and the world.What we had to do was we had to get into 3 groups.In my group there were Chavda and Nyjah.We all had to make one copy of one of the slide. Then we had to work on one slide as a group. BRAIN meaning- B for benifits R for Risks A for alteritives I for Initiatives and N for next or nothing.

Today for maths Infinity got to measure the hall and court by length using time. What we had to do was we had to make a google spreedsheet to record our time running and walking.We Measured the hall first.Then We had to time each other and see how fast we could run.The fastest one we got was me.Then we measured the court.For this one we walked.We all got diffrent times. The fastest one was fau.

Narritive Check

Li: To buddy confrence to start to edit and check writing : Today for writing we done commenting on other people's narritives. What we done was we had to get in a group of 3 then send each other our narritive's from last week.Once we done that each person had to go on one of the persons narritive in your group and check for the puntuation, If there's a space beetwen a full stop and a capitial letter. Then we had to highlight the wrong stuff they done and comment something simple to let them know so then they could change it.Then we had to show Mr Ogilve the comments the other 2 in our group wrote.Then we had to go and fix our mistakes.For this we took screenshots of our comments and highlighting.

LI: To identify Kew Words and Key Phrases

Today for our reading activicty we done a key word summary. What we done was we had to read a book called mahinga kai crusader. This book was about a guy name Karl Russel and his best friend Simon. This tells us what Karl does for his lifestyle. Once we read the book then we had to do a key word summary. A key word summary is a google doc that has Who,What,Where,When,How and Why.  Today for another peice of inquiry we done Peices of Technology and Systems of Technology.What we had to do we got shared a google doc of picture of seices of technology and systems of technology.Then We got sent 2 more google draw.We had to put in picture in the template of peices of technology and do the same with the systems of technology.Then when we were done we had to write on the nottom a definition of a peice of technology and a definition of systms of technology.

Compare and Contrast

Today for inquiry we had to do compare and contrast .What we had to do was we had to Write down a peice of object that does not need technology.I picked fork.Then we had to write down what the fork is usful for or what we use it for.Then we had to do the same with the systems for that I picked fridge. Then in the middle we had to write about the same of the Peices and Systems.

Liquid Volume

LI: To Measure the volume of bottles or cans

Today for maths we done Liquid volumes.Wht we had to do was we had to find pictures of bottles or cans then we had to go on it's site that we found it on and guess how many ml is in the object.We also had to attribute it. How to attribute i is by first searching up a photo then clicking tools,Go on Lable for reuse.The the last step is to get a piccture that you like then go on it's site and copy and paste the Owner,Link and license so then you are giving more creidt to the owner than yourself.

Narritive Story on Jack and Jill's monster adventure

Jack and jill's Monster adventure

!!Thump Thump Thump!! Jill got scared and got closer to the door then all of a sudden "BOOO"!!!!! Jack said scaring Jill and making her say " AHHH" " Hahahahah" shame you thought I was a monster " hahaha" Jack said.

" It's not funny jack, one day you could die and I could save you, then you won't be laughing now aye" said Jill.Jack got a little embarrassed and told jill to hurry up so then they could go Trick or treating already. Jill Just took her time, but they never knew what was happening.

A monster living deep into the swap.He had a special weapon that would take souls and make the monster bigger. That would mean each Halloween when he takes lots of souls he will grow and finally destroy everything, but one thing he never knew was if you destroyed everything he would not grow much bigger or take more souls.

Finally Jack and Jill was ready, then Jill came up with a bet which was whoever got the most candy gets 5 $ and the loser would get their head dumped with mud. The mud would be like a brown icky muddy shoe. Jack smiled and agreed on the bet.

They started going to houses and getting lollies but then a monster came out. When Jack saw him he started to laugh because the monster was wearing the most ugliest and  funniest soul necklace ever. The monster got so mad that he took jack's soul and left jack's body on the ground.

Finally Jill got enough candy to beat jack on the bet. Jill started to look for jack. Then after minutes of looking she saw Jack lying on the ground which made his body freezing cold. Jill was scared after seconds she finally saw the monster,The monster wanted to take Jill's soul too but Jill ran away and toke Jack with her back to her house and down to the basement,
to figure out a plan to get the monster back to where he lived and made sure he'll never take souls and never come back to her town. Jill thought she could use the monster as bait.

Jill finally got someone that was brave and let the monster take her soul. So the girl which was Jack and Jill's mum asked questions to the monster while Jill was hiding and got all the info she needed. Then Jill Finally found a scientist that could make a weapon and put the monster in it's rightful place. Jill went one on one against the monster and use the weapon which was called MTx 900. The monster was finally back into it's rightful place the Swamp.But before Jill used it she made a bet with the monster.

The monster had to give all of the souls he had taken and Jill wouldn't shoot the monster. The monster gave back the souls but Jill lied about shooting the monster. So then she shoot the monster and Jack's soul went back to Jack's body. Then the next day Jill came up to Jack saying" Where's my 5 $?"

LI: To write a narritive and add in Correct Narritive Structure

Today for Writing we had to write down a narritive about last weeks plan.What we had to do was we had to get some of the parts we done in last weeks plan and write some of it done also to plan it better so you know what you are doing.Most of our stories a had to include Jack,Jill and the monster. We had to put in paragraphs.Once we were done we had to look for Punctuations,Grammer,Volcabalary and add Adjective,Similies and a metorpho.

Word Web

LI: To Identify keywords and pharses

Today for reading we had to do a word web.What we had to do was we had to read a book called kai crusaders.Then we had to go on our groups site and find a word we would use to put in the middle of our word web. I picked Estuary because I already knew what it was.Once we found the word we wanted then we had to find synonoms for your word that discribs it. I think word web is a good name for this acticty beacsue your have words and matching them in a web which makes it much intersting.

Today for reading we done current events.What we had to do we had to find a artical and read the story.Then we had to make a copy of the current events and write down on the first slide facts about the book you read.I read this book called faceless fish discoverer picked this artical because it sounded interesting and people might be interested if i picked this artical.

Blog Commeting

Today I blogged comment on Mele's work. I picked her because her work is amazing and her name popped up in my head first. I think that Mele does really good work and sometimes I always think she tries to show off her work.I think Mele done well on Saying different greetings to Victoria and Jack.

Measuring Volume

Today for maths we done volume.Volume is the whole area of the shape.What we done first we got some place value blocks and get some blocks. Then we had to work out the volume which was W x H x D ( Width x Hight x depth). We had to times w and h first then when we got the answer we had to times it with depth.Once we knew what volume is then we had to find rectangular shapes and measure that with a ruler which was harder

Narritive Planning

Jack and jills monster adventure

Today for writing we wrote out a narritive.What the narritive structure is a word called TOPES.The t stands for tittle,The o stnads for orientation,The p means problem,The e is events and the s is solution.We got this template that we did last week and cared on most of it.For tittle is mostle comes first so then when the reader wonders what the story is called it comes first right on the top.The O comes next it is the who,what,wear,when, how and why.It most part of it is that it is the orientation that comes next after the tittle and it is like the introduction.The problem is meaning for what wrong things happend in the story.Menaing something bad happend.The events is caring on from the problem you mostly have to write how the problem started in the middle. S is the solution it is the good thing that happends after the events.It might means that its the ending to only a little bit.

Narritive planning

LI: To plan a narrative, Today for writing we got to do a narrative planning.What we had to do was first was think of 3 tittles but try to make it starting without the.As you see here i done 6 because I was really creative about it.Then we had to do the orientation with was the 5 w's but on the template we only done 1 but mostly 3. When could add on more characters and settings.Then we had to make another template for one on the characters and the settings.I done Mother and streets for setting.

Raz Kids - Irmas shop

Today on raz kids I read this book called Irmas sandwich shop.This book it about a woman named Irma that loved to make snadwiches. She never really loved sandwiches but she loved making them.Irma could make any sandwiches her shop was right on the corner of the shoping center.Irma put her shop in the corner of the town because there was a school nearby and everytime the kids would walk by they would always stop and have the sandwiches Irma would make.Irma could make any sandwiches at any time.She was really good at doing them.When the animals heard that Irma could make any sandwiches they would order something really big.If Irma didn't have the ingredients she would get them really fast.Each day Irma got more and more challenged.

 Today for reading we done a 3 venn diagram.What we had to do we had to read 3 articles.We had to write down  what we knew but if we wanted to copy it of the site or book we had to make it in our own words.The 3 article and book we read was Ruamoko Rages,Volcano facts and weather wid kids.How I learnt this was by thinking of a question and finding the answer in the text.We had to do a 3 venn diagram because we read more that 2 books.We had to fill up the whole circle.Once we were down we had to compare the info we knew and that was already in the book or site then we wrote in the middle


LI: to identify the area of a rectangle and to measure

Today for math we learnt about area. For example if we had a rectangle the inside would be the area.We used times table to count the inside faster.How we counted the inside we got pixel art paper and and to draw rectangles.Then we had to measure the Withd and the Height that was in the rectangle.After that we had to get our maths book and glue or paper the we started to add it up in times tables.I learnt the using times table  makes it much faster to count and what area is.Everyone in Mr Wong's group learnt about this.
