Taking Action - Summer Learning Journey

Today I have watched 3 videos about current projects in NZ. Theese projects are about trying to get predetors away from us. I think I liked video three because it talked about Kiwis. I like this video because I have never seen a kiwi before and if Rats, Stoats and possum could stop eating them there might be a chance for kiwis to be around NZ more. Kiwis are currently living in NZ, they are a bird that have no wings.

  1. Greetings Marieta,
Your reason sounds great because I have never seen a Kiwi in my life and it would be good seeing Kiwis around New Zealand often. If you remembered this site in the future and you had over 1.M dollars on you would give money to homeless people and to charity? Next time remember to attribute your images.

    Keep it up!

  2. Malo E Lelei Marieta,

Nice choice of your video picking. I love the image logo too. I love kiwi's too, because it is a New Zealand bird. It is really kind of you to choose the third video. I did this activity too, but I chose a different video. I chose the first one, because he was an inventor. Have you seen a Kiwi?

    Nice One!

  3. Hi Marieta!
Its great to see that you are keeping up with the SLJ activities. You are doing an outstanding job on the SLJ. Will you be continuing? I for sure know that I will be.

  4. Hi Marieta,
Well done on finishing this Summer Learning Journey activity. I also hope that we will be predator free soon. Like you, I have never seen a Kiwi in real life so I hope that predators like stoats won't kill them. How would you get rid of predators? Keep up the good work.

  5. Kia ora Marieta,

How is your Thursday going? It was pretty overcast and rainy this morning, but it looks like it’s clearly up! What is the weather like for you?

I also enjoyed the project ‘Zero Invasive Predators’ also known as ZIP. This is a really effective and efficient project that New Zealanders should really get behind! Kiwi’s are our native birds and are still endangered because of pests. I really like how you names some of the predators that ZIP are trying to get rid of.
Can you think of any ways you can help save the kiwis? I would recommend being careful around kiwi zones.

Looking forward to hearing from you :)

    Cheers,
    Georgia E
