Woman at work

For this activity, I have to imagine that I am just like Dorothy ( Rachel's Nana) and that I am working as a nurse on a large medical ship. I have to carry on a story.

One day you are walking along the deck of the ship when you hear a loud bang. You start to run as you see smoke coming from the far end of the ship. You run towards the room where your patients are waiting to receive treatment from the doctor. Just as you arrive at the door to their room you hear another loud bang and you tell another doctor to got and check it out. You give all the patients what they need then run quickly to the other end of the ship to check what happen. You see the doctor on the ground. You quickly help here and send some more help. You found out she had high blood presure and didn't make it. You went to the where she was lieing down nd started to cry. You stand up wipe the tears and work hard to look after your patients. More people started to get hurt and it was hard. But you just trust in yourself and keep working hard. Its tireing but its all worth it when you meet new people and learn more about them.Making new friends is the best part about it you get to talk together and know that you will be fine. When more people started to come the boat started to sink. Your in trouble and don't know what to do. You know its for the best... But you survived. You woke up in another hospital and get some rest and help. Your fine and heal. Now your all fixed up and help more soldiers.

  1. Hi Marieta

Fantastic work! I loved reading your story especially because it had a happy ending for the nurse! Maybe you could tell us a little bit more about the environment and how it feels to work on a medical ship like this. I would be so scared being responsible for wounded. You have done well to write a story that engages and draws the reader in.

See if you can include a few photos. This helps your readers visualise your story.

What do you think it would have been like on that ship? Think of your senses, sight, smell, touch, hear.

I can’t wait to hear more about the story!

    Cadence :)
